Prior to 2009, Paul was Director of the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York (from2001-2009), and Director of the Design Museum in London (from 1993-2001). He is an Adjunct Professor at the Innovation in Global Health Institute, Imperial College London, a Trustee of the Victoria & Albert Museum and is on the Ashmolean Museum Board of Visitors. In 2014, she curated the exhibitions I.D for the Islamabad Literature Festival (Pakistan) and Still of Peace and everyday lives at the Museo Capitolare, Atri (Italy). In 2011 she founded and directed for two years castellodirivoli.tv for the museum Castello di Rivoli in Turin, Italy. From 2007 to 2012, Lavinia Filippi also contributed as correspondent and author to several television shows on art and culture for the Italian national channel RAI. {/zen-author} |

I studied Psychology and Fine Arts at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, USA, received my M.A. in the History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Contemporary Art from the Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. I am a member of Phi Betta Kappa. I was an Art Psychotherapy Trainee at The Arts & Psychotherapy Center (A.P.C.) in Athens, Greece, where I submitted my dissertation on the application of art therapy in museums. I have published articles on Art Therapy such as “When a museum goes Beyond Boundaries”, newsbriefing, British Association of Art Therapists, December 2015, p.29–30, “New Forms of Interactions”, newsbriefing, British Association of Art Therapists, June 2014, p.22–23, “The Art Therapist assists the person to achieve change”, culturenowmag, n. 28, Spring 2014, p. 24, “Art Therapy and Psychosis”, Minimata (Messages), issue 56, Pan Hellenic Association of Families for Mental Health, January-March 2014 and have been an exhibition catalogue coordinator in catalogues published by EMST. |
